When commercial master Andy Bennett joined the Mainline Match team at the start of the year, he was very keen to create his own personal commercial groundbait mix for pole and feeder fishing, and that is where the Bagga Mix originated! The groundbait is crafted from a blend of different pellets that have diverse fishmeal and oil contents to give it the fishmeal and pellet smell. When you look closely you can see the multiple shades and speckles of various pellets in this groundbait.
The grinding process of the mix is also important and gives it a gritty but even texture that makes it very easy to mix-up and use. All the particles soak up water very well, helping the groundbait fluff-up, but at the same time and importantly to Bagger, it also sinks very quickly meaning you can feed the groundbait in any form to keep fish feeding on the bottom. It can be made into a hard or soft ball, but is highly effective when fed in a ‘sand-castle’ manor or loose in a pole-mounted pot.
It’s equally effective when moulded around a Method or Hybrid feeder too, breaking down quickly and evenly. The Bagga mix has a neutral golden colour that is highly attractive in any water clarity and is set to be a very popular all-round commercial groundbait for all species of fish, especially carp, F1s and bream.
