I was looking for a rod that was lighter than my all purpose one on for pleasure fishing. It is ideal for float fishing where you want to use a lighter reel and tackle. It handles small fish with ease and I have comfortably landed fish up to 12lbs. The rod action has reduced the amount of hook pulls. In test curve terms it is around 1.5lb. A great rod for match venues.
